Basic Green 4 (Malachite Green)

1) Chemical family: basic dyes

2) Color index no.: Basic Green 4 (42000)

3) Property:

a) Green crystal powder with a metallic luster

b) Very soluble in water, extremely soluble in ethanol and solutions are blue-green

c) Becomes yellow in high concentration sulphuric acid

d) Becomes dark orange when diluted

e) Becomes orange in high concentration nitric acid

f) Becomes brownish orange when diluted

4) Application:

a) Used for dyeing silk, wool, cotton, paper, bamboo, weed, straw, leather, linen and some chemical fibers

b) Also used in making color lake, solvent dyes and positive ion dyes

5) Packages: 25kgs iron drums, cartons, woven bags.
6) Storage & transportation: The product must be stored in shade, dry & well-ventilated warehouse. Avoid to be contacted with oxidizing chemicals and combustible organic substances. Keep it away from direct sunlight, heat, sparks and open flames. Carefully handle the product and avoid damaging the package.
